BST!

British Summer Time is here and the UK has been basking in glorious sunshine for the past week. The ocean has delivered fun waves, groomed by a gentle offshore wind. I've been surfing my nuts off mainly at the reeling right handers of Saunton.

The perfect weather meant Dale Crawford-Drake was keen to get behind the lens, although the evening light is not the easiest to shoot with down at Saunton, here's a few shots managed to get.......Cheers bud!

So the season starts

What an epic weekend for the first contest of the year!

A huge turnout of competitors were greeted with flawless 2-3ft peelers on saturday morning, with the swell forecasted to build. The offshore wind picked up throughout the day, but it didn't seem to hamper the level of surfing.
The usual standouts were there, Ben Haworth showing why he is British champ, Angus Murray fresh after 3months in Costa Rica, Ash Braunton with his usual 12 O'clock turns. So by the quater finals, there were a whole host of people who fancied there chances at pushing through the rounds to the final.

One guy who raised his game on the Sunday was up and coming ripper Jack Unsworth, he dominated the Junior final earlier in the day and then had a near perfect final in the Open. Jack posted a 9.0 with one of the first rides of the Open final. Ben and Angus both showed there class in a top quality final, with Ben prevailing as the winner.

After work surfs....

It's that time of year that we all love, when the evenings start to pull out and the after work surfs begin. It's fair to say the surf has been pretty good these past few days and I've been lucky to snag a few fun ones at low tide Croyde.

Here's a shot that Pete Cox snapped yesterday. Check out his stuff here....www.facebook.com/PETECOX.FILM.PHOTO.MEDIA
